My sister worked for Palin when she was mayor, and when she ran for governor. Shortly afterwards, she left the Republican Party, after being very active in it for the past 40 years, due to her disgust with Palin's actions. She's nothing more than an embarrassing idiot of a hick who can see Russia if she stands on her 3rd floor toilet and looks .... If she and her supporters actually win anything, I would abandon the US, and move to Finland, Sweden, Australia or New Zealand. I haven't thought like that since before I went to Viet Nam, twice. Ok, not everybody can be as articulate as Barack Obama or John Major; I wish I can talk like them. The argument of having a mosque buildt near Ground Zero is more out of ignorance and emotion. I'm American and feel persoanlly attacked when this happened. Let's put things in perspective and not be hateful. Oh, about Palin, I find her socially ignorant and her talent in public speaking lacking. On a scale of 1 to 10, Obama and Major are a 10, the guy on the video is a 6 and Palin is a 1. Remember, FOX News gets about 2 million viewers on average per night. That's less than 1% of all Americans. Yes, it's #1 in cable news, but cable news just isn't that big. The media plays up its importance because it makes for a good story but the actual significance is relatively small. On a good day, O'Reilly's show (FOX's #1) will get about 3.5 million viewers, or slightly more than 1% of all Americans. Living so far away, it's easy to think that FOX and Palin have more significance than they really do. The second comment I had was about the Muslim mosque. A week or so ago, I had a conversation with a bunch of people about this, one of whom was Muslim here in San Diego. Her husband is from Turkey and she said that the vast majority of people in her mosque were against building this mosque so close to the former Twin Towers. They thought it was insensitive after what had happened and would cast Muslims in a negative light. I can't speak for other Muslims, but I thought it should be mentioned. To be honest, I didn't think the guy on your video came off very well. Of course Palin is ignorant, no surprise there. But he came off as too strident and unprofessional, went on too long, repeated the same points over and over, acting similar to the person he was deriding. I don't think he helped his cause much except among the people who agreed with him in the first place. He wasn't very persuasive. His attempts at sarcastic humor just didn't work. In the end, he was simply annoying, at least to me. A couple of comments…
